Android currently does not have a native application to send and receive vCards/Business Cards/Contacts through SMS as seen in most non-smartphones.
Sometimes you are required to send contacts details of a contact on your phone, but the person who you wish to send it to has a regular feature phone. Hence this application sends Nokia standard vCards which can be detected on any compatible phone or is received in a human readable format in non-compatible phones.
At times your friend may send a vCard of a contact, but your android phone does not seem to receive that vCard which your friend sent, as it would most probably been sent as a DATA SMS which is not detected by Android.
vCard Manager is able to detect Data SMS as well Plain text SMS and able to detect and parse the vCard Data present in the SMS.
vCard Manager is the only free Business Card Manager available which can handle any vCards received through SMS.
vCard Manager is one of the only few Contact Card Manager apps which can send and receive Nokia compatible Business Cards via SMS.

This application is designed to only receive vCards through SMS. Certain devices such as iPhone send vCards through an MMS attachment which is not currently supported by this app.
MMS and SMS are two different methods of messaging, this app supports only Business Cards via SMS!
